Island of Sipan
At 9km long and 2.5km wide Sipan is the largest and most populated (450 permanent residents) of the Elaphiti Islands. There are two main villages, Sipanski Luka and Sudurad, where the Hotel Bozica is located.
Sipan is an island of lush vegetation with grapes, melons, olive trees and orchards plainly evident.
In Sudurad there are ruins of a castle and palace and dotted around the island are ruins of over 30 churches dating from the Middle Ages. There is also the pre- Roman church of St. Michael and an old Benedictine monastery.
The island can be explored on foot as there are well-marked hiking trails. Dubrovnik is accessible by ferry.
